Mauricio Quiroga "The Beast" (SEP San Juan) entered the story

Mauricio Quiroga put SEP San Juan on top of the podium again. The "Beast" took over the 80th edition of the classic "Mendoza-San Juan" that was played this Sunday and that along 184 kilometers joined the Cuyana provinces to end with massive packaging in Pocito. The puntano cyclist that arrived this year to the "Green Bugs" gave to the SEP the first triumph in the season. That is why the winner remarked after the competition that the "SEP returned to be the aggressive team from before" due to the triumph in the classic Vuelta de Mendoza a week ago with the hand of Juan Pablo Dotti.

The competition started from El Borbollón in the neighboring province of Mendoza. Quickly and when it had not been much of the stage, an escape that lasted almost three hours was set up. In the group was the SEP represented by Lionel Biondo, also in that court were Jose Luis Rivera, Adrián Richeze, Rodrigo Mieres, Facundo Crisafulli, Andrés Páez, Jonatan Soria, Juan Capdevila, Germán Chavarini, Matías Recabarren and Alejandro Saquilan. Among them were the special passes that were disputed along the route through Route 40. Arriving in Pocitan soil the rain received them and with that climatic situation it was developed until the final instant which made the stage even harder.

It was there that neutralization of the leak arrived and from there there were several attempts to cut off from the majority group but always with the SEP pulling point in the peloton, each of these attempts was neutralized so that the end was in massive packaging. And so it happened. There appeared the figure of Mauricio Quiroga who had told his teammates that he felt in optimum conditions to define in the sprint.

Won the "Beast" the great classic with a time of 3h52m42s. (189 km)
